Considering the pop culture theme and everything we have learned so far this year, I would like to do my research project on mental health and social media. I think the main social media apps I would want to include would be Instagram and TikTok mainly because personally, I think they have the most influence on people. I want to dig into the facts that everyone wants people to think they are happier than they may really be. I want to also look into females and what makes us look so down upon ourselves and compare ourselves to others on social media. I know many girls' lives revolve around social media Instagram specifically, they base everything off of likes and comments and if they don't get enough likes or comments they look down upon themselves. I plan by doing this project with this topic to better understand the roots of these struggles and hopes to help teach myself and possibly others how to not need validation from social media to feel confident and happy within our lives.

She also talked about social media and how that portrays the “look” of this ideal woman. She spoke on many good topics that came to mind when you think about this ideal woman. She says how this ideal woman is youthful, has nice glossy hair, and the clean expression of someone who believes she was made to be looked at. The article explains how this ideal woman is most likely seen on beaches or under the stars, both indicating beautiful things and making his ideal woman a part of it. The ideal woman is talked of very highly, she is smart and broadcasts herself in beautiful ways. I like the topic you chose the research! I think that social media does strongly the impact mental health of it's users by showing them influencers that lead "perfect" lives. I also like how you said that a lot of girls' lives revolve around social media because that is very true and a huge reason why today's generation is the way they are.
